Sheffield snooker: Amey resurfacing ‘farm track’ to players' hotel two days after start of World Championships
Amey workers were laying and rolling asphalt on Kenwood Road, Nether Edge, at 5.35pm on Tuesday, April 22 after starting with the pavements in February.

The 2025 World Snooker Championship started on Saturday, April 19 and ends on Monday, May 5 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield city centre.


Last year, resident Ian France claimed snooker stars who stay at the Kenwood Hall Hotel must be afraid the potholes would damage their cars.

He alleged Kenwood Road had been “overlooked” for resurfacing since a protest over removing a street tree nine years ago.
Sheffield City Council said Kenwood Road was in phase three of six highway consultations stemming from the street tree dispute.
Amey is the authority’s private sector roads contractor.
