With Derby losing at Preston, the result gives them a puncher’s chance of survival. You never know..

But what of the ratings? Let’s take a look..

Keiren Westwood – 7

..
.

Wednesday were lucky Blackburn’s finishing wasn’t on point once or twice it has to be said, but what he had to do, he did with little fuss and with confidence. Distribution pretty good and as ever a commanding voice at the back.

Julian Borner – 7

A few hairy moments both on the ball and in defence were overlooked as he largely did a job on dangerman Harvey Elliott, who went off with half an hour to play. Could have scored with two half-chances.

Tom Lees – 7

Lead the back three well and with assured calm. Ball-playing isn’t his strength and his possession stats might show that, but he defended well.

Sam Hutchinson – 6

A second early yellow card in as many matches put him on the tightrope and he was perhaps a touch lucky not to be shown a red for a rash first half tackle. From there, grew into the game nicely.

Adam Reach – 7

Busy, bustling. Put in a huge shift on the left and played a big part in the build-up for Windass’ goal.

Joey Pelupessy – 7

Moved the ball about nicely and did what he does; unflashy but assured. On the whole, Wednesday won the midfield battle and Pelupessy was a part of that.

Barry Bannan – 7

His radar wasn’t exactly at its brilliant best but one or two balls would’ve been a thing of marvel had team mates been on his wavelength. Hugely vocal.

Liam Palmer – 7

He’s been excellent in recent weeks. If his Scotland place at the Euros was in any doubt, it shouldn’t be. A constant outlet and a solid defensive display.

Josh Windass – 8

A man bursting with confidence. Took his goal well and buzzed about. Looked to be hobbling once or twice, Wednesday will be desperate to keep him fit.

Kadeem Harris – 6

End product again the issue in an otherwise busy effort. Off for Green on 75 minutes.

Jordan Rhodes – 6

Working off scraps, he was asked to hold the ball up and did that in bits and pieces. Jumped in and out of the game and was replaced by Paterson after 75 minutes.
