It was revealed that a player by the name of Agbontohoma started for the Owls against Colchester United this afternoon at Middlewood Road, and The Star understands that it is the Southampton man that the Owls are taking a closer look at.

Wednesday have a lot of players out of contract in the next couple of months, many of whom will not be sticking around, and the youngster may be seen as a good option for them if/when they end up in League One.

It remains to be seen how long the defender will be given to leave a mark on Lee Bullen and the Owls youth setup, but his first game in blue and white seems to be going well enough as they lead 1-0 at the time of writing thanks to a goal from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

Agbontohoma is set to be available as a free agent at the end of the 2020/21 season, and could strengthen Bullen’s side amid what could be a plethora of exits.
