Huge injury concern for Sheffield United after recently-returning Blade stretchered off at Charlton Athletic

Sheffield United were dealt another huge injury concern at Charlton Athletic this afternoon when Femi Seriki was stretchered off at the Valley. The right-back has only just made his return from a knee problem.

And he came off the bench at half-time against Charlton, replacing Hamza Choudhury who was on a yellow card up against the lively Tyreese Campbell. But Seriki lasted a couple of minutes at best before falling awkwardly on the turf.

Although it wasn’t immediately clear what the issue was, he seemed to be holding his knee area and the hope is that it is not a serious recurrence of the issue that kept him on the sidelines for a while this term.

But it certainly didn’t look good, with Seriki clearly in some pain and teammates obviously concerned about him as he received treatment.

The stretcher eventually came on to whisk him straight off the pitch for further examination, with boss Chris Wilder hopefully able to shed more light on the specifics in his post-match press conference.
