Sheffield Wednesday kept their hopes of achieving automatic promotion alive with a 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night.

Goals from Barry Bannan and Akin Famewo proved to be enough in Bristol as the Owls secured victory to remain third in League One, however the fact that Plymouth Argyle and Ipswich Town both secured late come-from-behind victories stopped it from being the perfect evening for Wednesday.

Darren Moore explained afterwards that they focused heavily on their work off the ball ahead of the tough game against the Gas, and you can watch him discuss it in the video above.

With half an hour gone Wednesday were in front thanks to a fantastic Bannan strike inside the box - set up by Lee Gregory.

And just before half time it was two, Famewo beating James Belshaw from close range.

A clean sheet wasn’t to be, though, after a mix-up at the back saw Aaron Collins find the back of the net - but Wednesday held on for victory despite plenty of second half pressure from the hosts.
