Wednesday secured a 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night, keeping themselves in the hunt for automatic promotion as they head into their last three games of the League One season.

Moore’s side have won more points on the road – 39 – than any other team in the division at this point in time, and their latest victory kept hope alive even though it wasn’t enough to get them back into the top two.

They now turn their attentions to Exeter City on Saturday afternoon in what will be their penultimate home game of the season, and Moore explained in Bristol that there is a chance that they may be able to welcome back Windass into the setup - though it’s not a certainty at this point.

"We’ll check on Josh for Saturday,” Moore said. “It could be 50-50 for Saturday but we’ll see."

They will also wait to hear what’s happening with Akin Famewo after he had to be helped off the field of play at the Memorial Stadium in the second half.

Famewo scored the winner for the Owls, and his manager has stated his hope that his ailment is just ‘tightness and fatigue’, but only time will tell whether he’s able to get himself back in time to face Exeter in a few days’ time at Hillsborough.

After Exeter there is a trip to Shrewsbury Town for the Owls, with Derby County coming to town on the last day of the season in a fixture that could still decide whether Moore’s side secure automatic promotion or not.
