Sheffield United transfer news: Blades star ‘no longer’ a target for Liverpool, Millwall to ‘win’ race for non-league starlet

Sheffield United claimed a deserved win over Huddersfield Town yesterday in their first match back since the World Cup started. Billy Sharp scored the only goal of the afternoon as they dominated on home turf and helped them stay within three points of Burnley at the top of the Championship.

Paul Heckingbottom’s side have also extended the gap between themselves and third place after Blackburn Rovers were thrashed 4-1 by Preston North End. They now sit five points above the Lancashire outfit.

Next up for United is a trip to Wigan Athletic next Monday in what will be Kolo Toure’s first home match in charge of the club. The former Liverpool defender claimed a 1-1 draw with Millwall in Saturday’s return to action.
