However, when the driver - Zohaib Hussein, of Huntsman Road - pulled over on Olivers Drive and fled down a nearby alleyway, police in pursuit saw him duck into a nearby bush.

After catching the fleeing 30-year-old on foot, one of the officers searched the shrubbery for anything suspicious that Hussain could have been attempting to hide.

It was there they found a black bag containing a loaded pistol primed with three live rounds of ammunition.

The 30-year-old was arrested and subsequently charged with possessing a firearm and possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.

Hussain leaded guilty to both charges. H was jailed for five years in a hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday (October 27).
