A police probe was launched after a home on Hyde Park Terrace, Hyde Park, was shot at on Saturday, October 24.

A bullet hole could be seen in a window of the property yesterday.

South Yorkshire Police said a young woman was inside at the time of the gun attack but she was unharmed.

Detective Chief Inspector Scott Harrison described the shooting as “appalling”.

He added: "Those who have chosen to commit this callous act clearly do not care about the consequences of their actions, and may be thinking they got away with it under the cover of night. But be rest assured, this is certainly not the case.

"We have a dedicated team of officers working around the clock to find those responsible."

Police cordoned off the crime scene in the wake of the shooting.
