A woman was pronounced dead in a Sheffield park after police officers and paramedics responded to concerns for her safety.

The 29-year-old, who has not yet been named, died in High Hazels Park, Darnall, yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the park at around 3.45pm over concerns for the woman, who could not be saved.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and the area was cordoned off as a precaution while enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were carried out.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called at around 3.45pm yesterday following reports of concern for a woman in High Hazels Park, Sheffield.

“Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The area was cordoned off while enquiries were conducted. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

The cause of death has not been released.
