Clarks shoe shop relocates as Sheffield's dwindling retail offer shifts to The Moor

The shop is moving from Orchard Square to The Moor, the company has confirmed.
Workers are revamping the former Ann Summers shop and the new store is set to open in September.

Hide AdA Clarks spokesman said it was run by a franchisee but his understanding was all current employees would move and there would be no job losses.
Clarks is the latest retailer to leave Orchard Square following the closure of Fat Face and Schuh.
Owner London Associated Properties has applied for a £750,000 grant from the council to convert former shops into flats and improve the ‘public realm’.
Food hall, Sheffield Plate, opened in two former retail units in September.

Hide AdClarks’ move is another sign that Sheffield’s dwindling retail offer is focused on The Moor.
A large Sports Direct opened in the former TJ Hughes department store near Cumberland Street in July and a Five Guys burger outlet opened last month.
But the longstanding Lloyds Bank branch is set to close in November and Debenhams has been closed for a year and remains up for sale.
Last month, a spokesman for the owner said it was on track to reopen as a shop and the sale could complete by the end of August.

MHA snapped up the five-storey building in April last year. It put it up for sale a year later.
