Greg Eden joined the club halfway through the 2026 season, filling the gap in the fullback position that had been left by the injury to Matty Marsh.

The ex-Super League star made his name playing in several key squads, such as Hull Kingston Rovers and Huddersfield Giants, but is perhaps most notably remembered for his time spent with Castleford Tigers.

Previously, throughout this year’s campaign, he had featured for both North Wales Crusaders and Bradford Bulls, before his subsequent move to Sheffield.

Eden contributed 8 tries in 11 matches for the Eagles, becoming a driving force in the consistent form his side found in the latter stages of the year.

Following the news that Sheffield Eagles have appointed Ryan Sheridan as their new head coach, it will be both Eden and Sheridan’s second time working together, with the first being Sheridan’s spell as assistant coach at Castleford Tigers. Both of them were part of the Tigers side that won the 2017 Super League Leaders’ Shield and also made it to the Grand Final in Old Trafford that same season.

Eden now becomes the 19th player contracted to the Eagles ahead of their 2027 campaign.
