The concert begins at 7.30pm and promises an evening of captivating choral music to welcome the summer.

It comes on the heels of an outstanding performance at the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts in May 2026, where the choir triumphed by winning three classes and claiming the prestigious Gold Cup — one of the festival’s most coveted honours. This latest success adds to an impressive record of competition achievements, including winning the Choir of the Festival award at the 2023 Isle of Man Festival of Choirs.

Under the direction of Musical Director Lucy Joy Morris, the choir will present a wide-ranging programme of vocal music spanning traditional and contemporary pieces. The evening will feature a rich variety of both accompanied and unaccompanied choral works from around the globe, offering something to delight every audience member.

Lucy said: “We are absolutely thrilled with our success at Cheltenham, and we are excited to bring that energy and passion to St John’s Ranmoor on 11 July. We hope the Sheffield community will join us for what promises to be a truly special evening of music.”

Founded in Sheffield in 1987, the Abbeydale Singers is a 40-voice chamber choir with a reputation for outstanding performances. The choir is a registered charity with a strong commitment to supporting the development of young musicians in the region.
