There’s a new face involved at Sheffield Wednesday as Dejphon Chansiri looks to make moves to help secure their Championship status and future success.

Sheffield Wednesday managed to end the year on a high with a victory over Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, less than 24 hours after Chansiri had made the decision to part ways with Tony Pulis.

Neil Thompson explained afterwards that he had been tasked with preparing for games against Boro and Derby County, while the chairman continues his hunt for Pulis’ replacement.

It’s thought that Chansiri has started working with Erik Alonso, the President of WBD Sports Management, who has come on board as an advisor – and The Star understands that he will be working closely with the SWFC owner with regards to several aspects of the club.

Alonso’s agency boast an impressive client list that includes players at some of the top clubs in the world, and Chansiri will be no doubt hoping that the Spaniard can assist in a number of areas going forward.

Conversations between Chansiri and Alonso are thought to have been ongoing for some time, but have taken an upturn over the last few weeks as the January transfer window approaches.

Alonso has plenty of experience in the game, with his family owning clubs in Spain since the 1990s, and is thought to be excited at the prospect of trying to play his part in helping the Owls return to the Premier League in the future.
