The Owls are hunting for Tony Pulis’ replacement after the shock decision to part ways with him on Monday night, with several names having already been thrown into the hat from various parts of the world.

One of those names was José Mourinho’s former assistant at Inter Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid, who is currently available after his decision to bring to an end a very successful spell with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the Republic of Korea.

It remains to be seen exactly who is on Dejphon Chansiri’s list of potential targets at this point in time, but The Star understands that there has been no contact with Morais as things stand, with sources saying that it’s ‘just rumours’.

Pulis was in charge of just 10 games at Wednesday, presiding over only 10 games during his tenure, and Chansiri will no doubt be eager to find a replacement as soon as possible as the year comes to an end.

The Star will keep tabs on the situation as things progress, but – and things are always subject to change – it would be a surprise to see Morais make a return to South Yorkshire for a second spell.

Wednesday currently have Neil Thompson in charge as caretaker manager of the club, with Lee Bullen as his assistant at Hillsborough for tonight’s game against Middlesbrough in SWFC’s final game of 2020.
