Sheffield Wednesday ticket update for League One opener at Leyton Orient
SWFC fans love an away day...
Sheffield Wednesday fans have snapped up their full allocation for the League One opener at Leyton Orient.
The Owls kick-off the new season at Brisbane Road on Saturday, August 15, their first visit there since a 1-0 win 14 years ago in March 2012. Wednesday are second favourites for the League One title, behind only Leicester City, so they will be expected to collect all three points on the opening day after dropping down from the Championship.
Orient missed out on promotion from League One in 2025, losing to Charlton Athletic in the play-off final, and struggled to challenge again last season, finishing just above the relegation zone. They are fighting to keep star striker, Dom Bollard, 21, who scored 23 goals last term.
Wednesdayites expect securing tickets for away matches to be difficult this season because of smaller stadiums so it was no real surprise when they were given an allocation of just 1,250 for the trip to Orient. Prices were £30 for adults, £28 for 65 and over, £28 for those aged 18 to 24, and £13 for under-18s.
The club announced various sales phases based on the priority points system and it has now been confirmed that the full allocation sold out on Tuesday morning, 24 hours after going on sale.
“Away tickets for our opening league match against Leyton Orient have sold out,” the club said. “Thank you for your brilliant support!”
