Garry Monk to add James Beattie and Darryl Flahavan to his Sheffield Wednesday staff?
It was confirmed on Tuesday evening that Beattie and Flahavan, along with Head of Physical Performance, Sean Rush, had left the Blues, bringing to an end a stay of over two years in the Midlands.
Monk has worked closely with all three in a number of his previous jobs, and it would now be no surprise to see him bring Beattie and Flahavan to Hillsborough with him as he beefs up his technical team ahead of what is set to be a tough season at Hillsborough.

Hide AdBeattie, who was appointed as a first team coach under Monk at Birmingham, as well as Flahavan, a goalkeeping coach, worked with the current Wednesday boss at Leeds United and Middlesbrough prior to their latest positions – and now, having become free agents, could follow him to Sheffield.
Monk brought in Ryan Needs, another man with whom he’s well acquainted, as his Head of Tactical Analysis at Hillsborough back in October, and he would no doubt jump at the opportunity to team up with Beattie and Flahavan again if the chance presented itself ahead of the new season.
Some fans have been calling for the current boss to be given backing by the club in order to enact change after a tough 2019/20 campaign, and allowing him the opportunity to bolster those around him would certainly be a step in that direction.
