The Owls’ first team will be back at Middlewood Road with Garry Monk later this week, while their U23s and U18s returned a few days ago under the watchful eye of Academy Manager, Steve Haslam, and their Ladies team will be back to work with Dave Higgins in a couple of days’ time.

Monk’s side will be put through their paces as part of a staggered return to training towards the end of this week before they head down south to Loughborough University for a preseason camp there rather than heading overseas as they have done in the past.

Haslam explained last week that they had been given dates from the Premier League regarding the start of the 2020/21 season for the club’s U23s and U18s, explaining that they’re now working hard to get the youngsters ready for their respective campaigns in just over a months’ time.

As for SWLFC, their reserves played out a 2-2 draw with Dronfield Town Ladies over the weekend, while Higgins and his first team are set to get back to work in the coming days as they prepare for a step up in quality after making it into the North East Women's Regional Football League Premier Division after an impressive 2019/20.

The ladies are set to wear the new Owls kit this season as well, with all of the teams looking set to be aligned as they hope for further success going forward.

All of the groups are set to partake in some friendlies as competitive action draws closer, but it will be the first team with the most eyes on them as they seek to put the past season behind them and regain the form that saw them look like promotion hopefuls towards the end of 2019.

For SWFC, their U23s and U18s are expected to get underway around September 12, while no date is yet known for when their female counterparts will kick off.
