The Full Monty cast are set to return to our screens next year in a Disney+ series set 25-years on from the original British comedy film.

The film, released in August 1997, told the story of six unemployed men, who formed a male striptease act to earn money. Former steelworker Gary (Robert Carlyle) set up the act to make money to see his son.

The likes of Robert, Mark Addy, Tom Wilkinson, Paul Barber, Lesley Sharp and Steve Huison have reunited to film the reboot, with locations in both Sheffield and Manchester.

Former Sheffield schoolboy Wim Snape, who was just 11-years-old when he played Dave’s son Nathan in the film, will also reprise his role - now aged 37.

As well as the original cast, there are also some new faces, including Keeley Fitzgerald, Danny Mellor, Joe Zalias, and child stars Thomas O’Toole and Aiden Cook.

Thomas, who appears in just one episode as Carson, has previously featured in commercials for HSBC and Toyota. He also plays lead role Nick in the sixth series of CBBC’s Class Dismissed.

What acting has Aiden Cook done before the Full Monty?

Aiden’s first television role was in 2021, when he appeared in two episodes of the second series of All Creatures Great and Small.

He played Young Billy Dalby, a young farmer who is forced to take over the family farm after the death of his father, in the Channel 5 series.

Aiden also portrayed a pupil in Netflix’s Gods of Their Own Religion which is in the post production phase and is set to be released on February 28, 2023.

One person we won’t see returning to the cast is Hugo Speer who played Guy in the film. The Sun reported that his contract was terminated after he “allegedly invited a woman into his trailer while completely naked”.

The woman, a show runner in her 20s, had knocked on the door of his trailer, and he is alledge to have answered the door with no clothes on and invited her in.

The Harrogate-born actor has denied the claims and is challenging them.
