Police provide update on woman left fighting for life after Sheffield crash

A woman left fighting for life after a crash in Sheffield remains in hospital.

The 55-year-old woman’s condition was today described as serious by police officers investigating the collision in Parson Cross.

The motorist was joining Halifax Road from Cowper Avenue when her blue Suzuki Jimny was involved in a collision with a blue BMW travelling along Halifax Road away from Sheffield city centre.

The collision was reported to emergency services just before 10pm on Wednesday, September 2.

South Yorkshire Police said: “As the Suzuki joined Halifax Road the BMW reportedly hit the driver’s side of Suzuki pushing it onto its side.”

Officers are keen to trace motorists in the Halifax Road area just before or immediately after the collision who have dash-cam footage.

The driver of the BMW, a 26-year-old Sheffield man, suffered minor leg injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has since been released under investigation.
