'Gone far too soon' - Tributes pour in after innocent mum shot outside Sheffield city centre bar
“A beautiful woman inside and out”
Shanice Brookes has been described as a “beautiful woman inside and out” after she lost her life in a shooting on West Street.
Police say the 30-year-old mum was an “innocent bystander” who tragically sustained fatal wounds after shots were fired outside the One Four One bar on Bank Holiday Monday.

Flowers have been left at the scene, while tributes have also been shared online.
“Shanice, a beautiful woman inside and out. Gone far too soon, due to others’ reckless behaviour,” Fiona Brookes wrote.
“A family and many friends, left with nothing but devastation and heartache. It’s so wrong that this post should even exist, Shanice should still be with us.
“With a broken heart, for those left behind, I can only pray that God will uphold the family, as we struggle to get our heads around what has happened.
“Thinking especially of her little boy, now left without his mum. Heartbroken.”
Kirsty Wright added: “Such a waste. My heart goes out to her loved ones but mainly her little boy.
“Been out on West Street many times over the years, and shocked this has happened. Going forward we all shouldn’t be scared of going out but live life for angels like this young girl and look out for each other when [we’re] out.”
Others shared this sentiment, saying that families shouldn’t be worried about their loved ones never returning home when they go out.
Darren Woodhead wrote: “May the beautiful young lady R.I.E.P - please put down the guns and knifes nobody should go out on a night out and never return.
“My condolences too her family friends loved ones.
“My thoughts are also with her child bless them all so much.”
However, the overriding feeling was one of sadness, as many sent their love to Shanice’s family during this difficult time.
“I don’t have the words for this beautiful lady and her family, this should never happened may you rest in peace you beautiful lady,” Julie Shaw commented.
“Heartfelt messages to your family my thoughts are with you at this awful time.”
Catherine Mosley wrote: “So so tragic sleep tight beautiful lady love thoughts and prayers to your family and friends.”
