Inquest into fatal collision in Rotherham delayed after accident investigator forgets to attend
“I can only apologise on behalf of those who let proceedings down today"
An inquest into the death of a teenager who died in a road crash has been delayed, because a police accident investigator forgot to attend the hearing.

The inquest into the death of Summer Lousie Scott, aged 17, was expected to start at 10am.
It is still expected to take place later today.
Coroner Nicola Mundy addressed members of Summer's family to say she was "exceptionally unhappy" about the situation, because the officer was needed to give evidence "on the forensic side of the investigation".
She said: "I will be making calls myself."
And said added that she expected "a suitably qualified person" to attend the delayed hearing, which has been put back by an hour.
“I can only apologise on behalf of those who let proceedings down today," she said.
The fatal collision happened on Todwick Road, between Dinnington and Todwick, on December 13, 2025.
A second inquest, into the death of Joshua Johnson, 18, who also died as a result of the incident, is due to take place this afternoon.
Another occupant of the car, Trevor Wynn, aged 17, survived but was badly injured.
South Yorkshire Police initially told the parents of Trevor that he had died in the collision.
And the parents of Joshua were told that he had survied but was critically injured in hospital.
But on January 4 it was discovered that there had been a mix-up and Trevor was actually alive and it was Joshua who had tragically lost his life.
