Woman’s body found inside property on Sheffield street

Crime scene investigators were seen investigating an incident on a Sheffield street after a police cordon was put in place earlier today.

South Yorkshire Police has now announced that the body of a woman was found in a property on Blagden Street at 12.45pm today, Saturday, November 7, after emergency services were called.

A police spokeswoman said: “Emergency services were called at 12.45pm today following reports a body had been found on Blagden Street.

"A body of a woman, believed to be in her 40s, was found inside a property.“At this time, the death is not thought to be suspicious.”

Sheffield residents reported seeing an ambulance parked in the middle of the road at lunchtime today.

Alongside several South Yorkshire Police vehicles and the crime scene investigators, plain clothes police officers could also be seen on the road close to its junction with Manor Oaks Road, today at about 4pm.

South Yorkshire Police remain at the scene.
