What detectives investigating latest murder in Sheffield urgently want to know

Detectives investigating the murder of a man stabbed to death in Sheffield have issued an appeal for information.

Alan Anthony Marcus Sumner, known as Anthony, was killed in an attack on Windy House Lane, Manor, just before midnight on Thursday.

A post mortem examination revealed he was stabbed to death.

Paramedic battled to revive him but he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene, which was taped off and under police guard until yesterday.

A 49-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Simon Palmer, leading the police probe into the death, said: “We are doing everything we can to establish the sequence of events that led to the tragic death of Anthony.”

He added: “We know there may have been people in the area who witnessed the incident, but have yet to come forward with information. You might think your input is insignificant, but any information you have could be crucial for our investigation.

"I’d also ask that people check their CCTV cameras and dashcams for any footage recorded around the time of the incident that might help us.
