Sheffield United star Lys Mousset prepares for court case next month over supercar smash

Sheffield United striker Lys Mousset is preparing for a court case next month after his supercar was involved in a crash in the city.

The 25-year-old, who signed for the Blades in a £10 million deal in 2019 when United were promoted to the Premier League, is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on June 15 for his first hearing over the crash.

The Frenchman has been charged with driving without due care and attention and failing to stop after a collision.

The charges relate to an incident on Abbeydale Road South on Monday, January 4 in which the footballer’s £300,000 Lamborghini Aventador was involved in a collision with parked vehicles.

Sheffield United striker Mousset, who lives in nearby Dore, was arrested after the crash by officers from South Yorkshire Police and later charged.

A second man arrested in connection with the crash was issued with a penalty notice for wasting police time.
