Sheffield crime: 220 e-bikes and scooters seized by police from city's streets
Police have now seized 220 e-bikes and scooters being used illegally on Sheffield’s streets.
Officers said the latest seizures came on Tuesday, January 27, when three vehicles and an e-bike were confiscated in an operation aimed at making people feel less uneasy in Sheffield city centre.
Cops also conducted five stop-and-searches, with one returning a “positive result.”
One man was also arrested in connection with a report of criminal damage in High Street during the early hours of the morning.
Yesterday, four vehicles were seized including an electric e-bike which was being ridden by a delivery driver.

Sgt Simon Pickering said: “Operation Goshawk Kilo was born out of people feeling uneasy in the city centre, and we’ve made significant strides to address that since its launch.
“We know the issues and people who are causing the most harm in our area and this day of action is all about countering those.
“The e-bike we seized on Tuesday means we have now taken 220 dangerously modified bikes and scooters off the streets since the start of June 2024.
“This is just one way we are addressing the issues that we know matter most to people in our city centre – and this work can continue to go from strength to strength with your help.
“If you see something that concerns you when you’re in our city, report it to us. We can’t always take immediate action, but the information you provide us with helps us build up a picture of offending and gather evidence.”
