Aaron Johnson, 21, of Mawfa Crescent, Norton, appeared before court this morning, Saturday June 27, charged with murder following the death of Mr Marples-Douglas.

Police were called to a property on Woodthorpe Road on Friday, March 6 after reports that Mr Marples-Douglas, 23, had been found with multiple stab wounds.

Johnson, who was arrested on Thursday, June 25, is the second man to be charged in connection with his death.

Ben Jones, 25, of no fixed address, was also charged with murder on March 12 and is currently remanded in custody awaiting trial.

A 21-year-old Sheffield woman remains on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Johnson has been remanded in custody to reappear before court next month.
