Police launch murder probe after man ‘stabbed’ in South Yorkshire town

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died in Barnsley.

Officers attended Darley Avenue at around 11.10pm on Friday after receiving reports that a man had been stabbed.

The 43-year-old was taken to hospital but sadly died shortly after midnight.

An investigation is now underway and the man’s family is being supported by specially-trained officers.

South Yorkshire Police is urging anyone with information about his death to call 101, quoting incident number 1227 of June 26.
