Two homeless thugs - Gabriel Costea, left, and Robert Mirza, right - have been put behind bars after they were involved in a violent and ‘relentless’ joint-attack on a man in Sheffield city centre. Costea, aged 21, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on January 26 to five years of custody after he pleaded guilty to the unlawful wounding at St James' Row, Sheffield, and to a separate offence of robbery at an NCP car park at Arundel Gate, Sheffield. Mirza, aged 21, now of John Street, Sheffield, was sentenced to three years and four months of custody after he pleaded guilty to the offence of unlawful wounding on St James' Row, in Sheffield city centre. Pictured is Izmir Dragoti, aged 44, of no fixed abode, who was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court to 12 months of custody after he pleaded guilty to producing class A drug cannabis after a police raid at a property on Staniforth Road, in Darnall, Sheffield, discovered 140 cannabis plants and a follow-on crop of 96 cannabis cuttings. The court heard Dragoti hopes he will be free in time to return to Albania to be with his terminally-ill sister before she dies. Two thieves were been spared from jail after they stole over £14,000 from a grandmother and blew their ill-gotten gains on a night-out, Uber Eats, new phones, jewellery and Amazon deliveries. Courtney Pym, aged 23, of Daisy Walk, of Netherthorpe, Sheffield, who has no previous convictions, and Chloe Ibbotson, aged 23, of Stanwell Walk, at Wincobank, Sheffield, who has previous convictions, both pleaded guilty to the theft. The court heard the defendants used Pymm’s grandmother’s bank card and pin number to make £14,423 worth of unauthorised withdrawals for themselves between January, 2020, and May, 2021. Ibbotson was sentenced to 18 months of custody suspended for two years with a rehabilitation requirement, an alcohol abstinence requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work. Pictured is Philip Longstaff, aged 51, of no fixed abode, who threatened a train conductor on a Northern service travelling between Meadowhall and Sheffield stations on Monday, January 16. Longstaff had been released from prison ‘on licence’ just 24 hours earlier with a warning to stay out of trouble or he could face custody but he committed this further offence and after he pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour he was sentenced to 20 weeks' imprisonment by Sheffield magistrates and was fined £50.
