Endcliffe Park rape: No arrests yet one month on from Sheffield sex attack

Detectives are continuing to investigate the rape of a young woman in a Sheffield park, with no arrests yet made over the sex attack.

The police probe was launched five weeks ago after an 18-year-old woman reported being raped in Endcliffe Park.

She told officers she was attacked by a man in a car at around 11.30pm on Tuesday, March 29.

Large crowds had gathered in the sunshine in the park that day as lockdown restrictions eased, allowing groups to meet up again outdoors.

The rape is reported to have taken place in a silver or grey Mercedes which had been parked in one of the spaces at the entrance to the park.

The man accused of the rape was Asian, aged in his 20s and was wearing a white T-shirt and black joggers or jeans at the time.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 13 of March 31.
