A drugs dog used in a police operation in Sheffield city centre identified people carrying Spice.

The dog was used in an operation in which 31 people were stopped and searched yesterday, leading to three arrests.

Three people were referred to support services for help after being found carrying Spice.

Two others received cautions for possessing the drug and one was reported and will appear at court.

Last week officers carried out targeted patrols of crime ‘hotspot areas’ and dealt with a number of people for drug possession.
