The heartbroken family of a young man killed in a collision in Sheffield has issued a heartfelt tribute and released a photograph of him as a child.
Ibrahim Warsame, aged 19, died following a crash in the early hours of yesterday as he rode a silver scooter along Ecclesall Road.
He was taken to hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced dead a short time later.
A police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has been launched.
Meanwhile, an online fundraising page has been set up to raise money in Ibrahim’s memory to help others.
More than £3,700 has been donated so far, with the cash to be used to pay for a water well.
Nasra Hassan, who set up the page, wrote: “This morning on the 22nd of June, we lost our beautiful brother Ibrahim Warsame due to a tragic accident at the age of 19. Ibrahim was dearly loved, cherished and precious to our whole family.
“Ibrahim touched so many people's hearts, and was always the first to offer help in any situation when anyone needed help.
“Ibrahim was a wonderful, caring and loving boy. His smile, his happy face and soft words always brightened every room. He was a son, brother, uncle and a cousin to many. We shall remember the memories we shared with him for the rest of our lives.
“Everyone who knew Ibrahim, knew how much of a giving and selfless human being he was. His passing has left a huge hole in each of our hearts. Ibrahim will be truly missed and forever loved.”
Nasra added: “The money raised will be used to build a water well in his name, to continue his good deeds. This is to help provide clean water to those in need. Please share and donate anything you can, no matter how small, so we can help our brother Ibrahim reap the rewards.”
Anyone with dash cam footage who may have witnessed the crash is urged to come forward.
