Boy, 17, charged after police chase which ended in crash and fire in Sheffield neighbourhood

The majority of the charges are driving-related.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with a number of offences following a police chase on Saturday (May 18).

At around 3am, a police officer saw a black Audi A4 driving “at speed” in the Gleadless area of Sheffield, according to South Yorkshire Police.

After requesting the driver to stop, a police chase took place.

The pursuit ended when the Audi collided with a car on Hurlfield Road, damaging both vehicles.

The wall of a property was also damaged.

A boy has been arrested and charged with burglary, failing to stop, disqualified driving, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence.

Lee Ward captured the video above, which shows a fire raging and police attending the scene in the early hours of Saturday.

There was reportedly a large police cordon in place on Saturday morning along Hollinsend Road, up to City Road in Manor, believed to be connected to the incident.

Part of Hurlfield Road was also closed throughout the morning.
