Investigations are continuing into two incidents which were linked to an unlicensed music event at Endcliffe Park in Sheffield on Friday (July 24).Officers were called to the park at around 6.45pm with reports a large group of people had gathered there for a music event.

On arrival, officers were alerted to an incident involving a 16-year-old boy who had suffered puncture wounds to his shoulder, and who had also fallen into a stream at the park.

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was discharged that evening.

A 19-year-old man from Bradford was arrested at the scene on suspicion of robbery, he has since been released on police bail.

A short time later, at 7.45pm, a teenager was seen by officers brandishing a knife on Rustlings Road.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon. He has since been released under investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Jamie Henderson said: “I understand both of these incidents were distressing, especially at such a prominent and popular green space in our city.

“I also know they were witnessed by other teenagers and I want residents and parents to know that we’re responding robustly; thorough investigations are underway by my team.

“I do have a really important request to make, which is aimed at anyone who was at the park on Friday evening, lives nearby or whose children attended the event. If you have any footage or photos of either of these incidents, please share them with us.

“Rather than just sharing on social media, please send them directly to us too.
