Addict who murdered Sheffield massage parlour boss in "savage" knife attack has served almost a decade

Fueloep had intended to intimidate his victim with a knife when he arrived but "panicked and lost control"

It is now eight years since a drug addict murdered a 73-year-old Sheffield massage parlour boss - stealing her car to fund “one night of drug taking”.

Lee Fueloep, then aged 40, stabbed Jill Hibberd 70 times in a "ferocious and savage" attack before taking the keys to her £26,000 red Audi TT.

Ms Hibberd, who ran the Fantasia massage parlour in Attercliffe, was stabbed in the face, neck, chest and limbs - sustaining injuries to her lungs, kidneys, heart, intestines and spleen.

Following the knife slaying Fueloep sold the vehicle on to Andrew Ashby, 23, for a “few hundred pounds” - using the proceeds to buy £200 of crack cocaine and heroin.

He was convicted of murder on December 2018 following a three-week trial.

Jailing Fueloep for life with minimum of 35 years, Mrs Justice O'Farrell told him: “'The sad fact of this case is a woman was murdered in her home to fund one night of drug taking.”

Sheffield Crown Court heard Fueloep carried out the fatal attack on Ms Hibberd at her home in Roy Kilner Way, Wombwell, shortly before 9pm on May 30, 2018.

Prosecutor, Kama Melly QC, had previously described how Fueloep had intended to intimidate Ms Hibberd with a knife when he arrived but "panicked and lost control" when she stood up to him.

Justice O'Farrell said: “I accept that Mr Fueloep didn't go to Ms Hibberd's house intending to kill her, it's likely that he planned to intimidate her and threaten her with a knife so he could steal her car and money.

“But Jill Hibberd was not a woman who was easily intimidated. He panicked or lost control and inflicted a ferocious and savage attack on an elderly, unarmed woman.”

Fueloep was a drug-user known for knocking on doors in Wombwell begging for cash to fuel his habit.

The court heard he had 20 previous convictions for 85 offences.

Ashby, 23, of Woolgreaves Avenue, Wakefield, admitted handling the stolen Audi and was jailed for 32 months.
