This afternoon (Friday, May 29, 2026) a woman charged in connection with Shanice’s death appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court, in a hearing which concluded a few moments ago.

Deiryen Dyce, aged 32, of Ellesmere Road North, Sheffield, has been charged with assisting an offender, possession of ammunition, possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property, namely £2,000 in cash.

Ms Dyce appeared at court wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey jogging bottoms. She only spoke to confirm her name, address and date of birth.

District Judge Tim Spruce sent the case to Sheffield Crown Court, with a hearing scheduled to take place on Monday (June 1, 2026), and remanded Ms Dyce into custody until then.

During the course of the five-minute hearing, the court heard how the gun believed to have been used in the fatal shooting was a handgun.

They added: “Shanice had the biggest heart and the kind of energy you could never forget.

“She was a deeply loved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and godmother, as well as being an amazing mum to her son, who meant the world to her. To her cousins, she was more like a sister – someone they could always turn to for love, laughter and support.

“Shanice was also due to graduate from university, a reflection of her determination, ambition and the bright future ahead of her.

“She could light up every room she walked in to with her infectious laugh, beautiful soul and magical aura. Shanice made people feel loved, safe and valued simply by being herself.”
