The alternations have been sent to Sheffield Council for planning permission, because the railway station is a Grade II listed building.

A report as part of the application says: “The design has been carefully developed to ensure that interventions are sympathetic, reversible where possible, and do not harm the significance of the listed building.”

They say it will provide an attractive, comfortable, and safe environment for travellers and staff.
