Anthony Glennon was a name linked with Sheffield Wednesday this week, but Darren Moore says he knows nothing about it.

The former Liverpool and Burnley youngster has been impressing at Grimsby Town this season, and there was talk that the Owls were one of a few clubs that were keeping tabs on the 22-year-old left back.

Moore, however, insists that that is not the case, telling the media, “Honestly, I would tell you if he was, but I've not heard anything of it.”

In fact, he says he’s not even looking at January at all right now, saying that their entire focus has been on their busy October schedule rather than the next window.

“Not yet,” he replied when asked if plans were underway. “We are nearly there… The month of October was really busy with the games. We had a lot of Saturday and midweek games. My staff and the recruitment team know when I get double fixtures in the week that I am solely focused on the games.

“Once we get to the Accrington game and it gets down to one game weeks, there is more space in the week to do more detail on it. When we start to look at the recruitment side for January, we know it's a real important time and you want to spend as much time as you can unhurried to try and get the right personnel in.

“We were really pleased with the work that we did in the summer. We put in a lot of hard work to get the right personnel in and it will be the same for January.

“We will look at aspects of the team in the first half of the season and where and if we need to add or replace in the January window.”

So even when January does roll around, it may not be a particularly busy window at Hillsborough anyway. It seems that he’s happy with what he’s got.

He added, “We lost Ben [Heneghan] and I remember you asking me if we were going to dive into the free transfer market.

“The reason I'm not going to dive into it is because Akin is back now. By the time you get a free transfer in and get him fit, we might as well work with our own and get Akin up to speed.

“Even though we have lost Ben, we have gained Akin coming back in. We will get him up to speed over the next few weeks and we will see where he is. We will try to get him back in as quickly as possible.

“There are still a couple of months to go until the window opens, and that's a long time in football. We will see how the squad goes.”

“At the moment, if we can keep people fit, healthy and strong, then it puts us in good shape for the January window.”

Wednesday are in action on Friday night against Morecambe in the FA Cup before heading to Southampton in the Carabao Cup next week.
