A major Sheffield road which was closed following a burst water main has partially reopened.

The A61 St Mary’s Road was closed eastbound from St Mary’s Church to Shoreham Street so repairs could be carried out.

Travel South Yorkshire said at around 7.30am this morning, Monday, January 20, that one lane of the inner ring road had now reopened.

Elsewhere, the M1 southbound between junctions 36 and 35a remains closed due to a serious police incident.
