The A61 St Mary’s Road is closed eastbound from St Mary’s Church to Shoreham Street, for traffic heading out of Sheffield, for repairs to be carried out.
Elsewhere, the southbound M1 between Junction 36 for Barnsley and 35A for Tankersley is also closed during this morning’s rush hour due to a serious police incident.
A diversion is in place but long queues are developing on the motorway.
