A pleasant Parkrun might seem a safe way to enjoy a spot of weekend keep fit…unless there’s a shark about!

Cayde Woods provided a colourful distraction at five Parkruns in both Sheffield and Rotherham as he raised almost £600 for South Yorkshire youth homelessness charity Roundabout.

Cayde is a regular Roundabout volunteer, regularly helping out at events like the charity’s biannual game swap.

But deciding to complete his summer challenge dressed as a bright blue shark proved to be tougher than he’d imagined.

“What I didn’t realise was that I’d barely be able to see where I was going and that it would feel as hot as a greenhouse,” he admitted.

“But after completing five Parkruns in five weeks, I’m very pleased that I’ve managed to raise £573!

“A huge thank you to everyone who donated to the cause and especially to those who ran with me around the five amazingly fun Parkruns!
