Electric Steel Makers Guild comes to Marcegaglia Sheffield site
The autumn meeting of the Electric Steel Makers Guild will come to Marcegaglia Sheffield on October 14.

Representatives from Sheffield Forgemasters, Tata Steel, Seven Steel and British Steel - along with many other steelmaking professionals - will attend the event as the Guild rounds off its 2026 meeting programme.
During the session guests will have the opportunity to visit Marcegaglia’s new 150-tonne stainless steel Primetals furnace, which was commissioned during the company’s summer shutdown.
Guild President and Marcegaglia Engineering Manager Tom Eades has been overseeing the detailed planning and implementation of the historic project.
ESMG spokesman Carl Brown, the UK Operations Director at Harsco Steel Mill Services, commented: ”It is fantastic to see this level of investment in Sheffield steel, which will provide job security and help secure a bright future for the industry.”
The Guild's objective is to promote progress in the manufacture of steel for commercial purposes in electric furnaces and to encourage free discussion and exchange of information of mutual interest and benefit to members.
