Sheffield Christmas Market returns to the city on November 12 in exactly two weeks time.

More than 50 cabins are planned, with over 80 per cent of traders expected to be from the local area.

The market will be open from 10-6pm on The Moor, and until 8pm on Fargate.

All four bars will be open from 10am-10pm.

The market offerings will continue until Christmas Eve.

Three days after markets open, the Christmas light switch on returns to the city in Devonshire Green.

The free, ticketed event will run from 3pm to 6.30pm on Sunday, November 15, with live performances from Planet Abba, Taylor Swift tribute act Katy Ellis and the Jingle Girls, who will perform traditional Christmas songs.

Visitors will be able to enjoy festive food and drink from local suppliers before the celebrations build towards a laser and light spectacular.

Christmas trees around Devonshire Green will also be lit up as part of the event.

Meanwhile, annual festive pop-up store 'The Christmas Shop' announced a second location ahead of the market's return.

The yearly yuletide supplies brand has set up in the former Halifax bank at the corner of Pinstone Street and Barker's Pool.

It comes after the company also moved into the former Cardzone on The Moor in October.

The brand, which says it has run in Sheffield for 25 years, typically holds its final trading day on December 24 before vacating by the turn of each new year.
