Restaurant week returns to Sheffield with bargain food and drink deals and local business pride

There are some superb deals coming to Sheffield

Sheffield Restaurant Week returns with deals at more than 40 city centre eateries.

Sheffield food lovers are being urged to get out and try something new as the city's Restaurant Week returns.

More than 40 city centre eateries have signed up to the two-week campaign, with special deals and promotions running from October 12 to 25.

The event aims to showcase Sheffield's growing dining scene while bringing more people into the city centre during what can be a quieter period for hospitality.

Diane Jarvis, Chief Executive of Sheffield BID, said: “It’s a campaign to champion the vibrant city centre dining scene across all these wonderful eateries and restaurants that we have in the city centre.

“The city centre seems to be flourishing with all these restaurants at the moment and there’s something for everyone.”

Inspired by New York's Restaurant Week, the campaign gives diners the chance to discover venues they may not normally visit.

“There is something for all palates, and it provides an opportunity for visitors, workers, residents and students to explore new venues while supporting local hospitality businesses - so that can only be a good thing,” Diane said.

Rebecca English, owner of Birdhouse Tea Company has joined the campaign.

She said: “We do hope this gets more people through the doors, especially midweek because we are a little bit off the beaten track, anything that gets people to explore a tiny bit further is very helpful.

“It’s also nice to put the challenge of creating deals to the team and see what they come up with.”

The team at Birdhouse has put together three deals for Dine Sheffield.

They include any matcha drink, including foams, syrups and garnishes, for £5.

On weekday mornings their signature themed pancake stacks (think Nutella or Biscoff) ordered before 10.30am will also cost only £10, and a special £15 sharing flight of three teas and three cookies to share is also available, with a vegan option.

Jessica Bell, from Hygge said: “This will be the first time we are participating in Dine Sheffield and we are really looking forward to it.

“It's a great opportunity for people to share a HYGGE moment together without breaking the bank, as well as introducing people to the cafe that they haven't been to before.

“We are offering two brunch dishes and two coffees for £20.”
