Hazy Club: First look inside Sheffield's newest club set to open this Friday, as a new nightlife era begins
Look inside Sheffield’s newest nightclub, Hazy Club, which opens this Friday (November 7).
The doors of the former CODE building on Eyre Street are set to reopen this Friday (November 7), under a new name and management, with Hazy Club promising to bring a fresh energy to Sheffield’s nightlife scene.
After CODE closed in 2022 due to rising costs, the city’s nightspots are getting a modern revival that focuses on music, atmosphere and the overall experience.

General Manager Matt Watson says the venue has been completely reimagined.
"This isn’t CODE anymore," Matt said.
"We’ve completely redesigned the space with new lighting, big screens and a bar now in the centre of the club.
“Our focus is on the music and the experience now - so it feels completely different."

The club has been designed with both students and locals in mind.
Thursday will host student night, with drinks starting at £1.95 for a single, £2.95 for a double, and three drinks from the fridge for £10.
Fridays will focus on tech, house and tech house, while Saturdays will offer a mix of R&B, cheese and crowd-pleasing hits, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
VIP booths are also available for those wanting a premium experience.
Matt added: "We’re planning to host some headliners and big events in the future, but for now it’s about opening strong and giving Sheffield a nightclub it hasn’t had before."

He said that the clubs focus on the house/tech scene, rather than drum and bass sets it apart from similar venues.
The opening weekend will feature sets from DJ Mddiction, known for playing at iconic venues such as Ministry of Sound, XOYO, and Studio 338, delivering a diverse, melodic sound designed to keep the dancefloor moving.
The venue features a revamped lighting system and big screens, giving it a modern club feel while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
Entry will be ticketed for all nights, with cheaper early entry before 11pm.
Matt expects roughly a 50/50 split of students and locals attending across the week.
"It’s very exciting that we’re finally opening," Matt said.
"Sheffield deserves a nightclub that puts the experience first, and we can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve done with the space."
