The Potters are in a tough run of form at the moment, winning just one of their last 15 games in all competitions and in the midst of a nine-game winless streak in the Championship.

Things didn’t get any better over the weekend as they were put to the sword by a rampant Norwich City, losing 4-1 as their wait for a return to winning ways went on.

Speaking to the club’s official website after the Canaries defeat, he said, “We have to start winning games, it’s as simple as that… We’re not looking at anything but winning a game now.

“We need to get back to winning games, and Tuesday gives us that opportunity.

“There will be changes, and that’s down to performance as much as anything else. I thought some performances were poor - so we’ll have to make allowances for that and make changes on Tuesday night.”

Wednesday are set to come up against former players, Steven Fletcher and Morgan Fox, at the Bet365 Stadium this evening, but there will be no chance for Sheffield United loanee, Rhy Norrington-Davies, to inflict any pain on the Blades’ rivals as he serves the final game of his three-match ban.

Meanwhile, Nathan Collins is a doubt for O’Neill’s side after being stretchered off against Norwich, although it remains to be seen whether he’ll be deemed fit enough to make the squad or not at this stage.

Stoke host the Owls at 7pm this evening as Wednesday look to secure back-to-back away wins following their victory away at Bournemouth earlier in the month.
