Speedway: Sheffield 'outgated' in Kings Lynn KO Cup defeat, says boss Simon Stead
Sheffield were ‘outgated’ on a track that did not lend itself to overtakes, believes boss Simon Stead after the team lost their first leg KO Cup tie at King’s Lynn.
The Tru7 Group Tigers suffered a 50-40 defeat to the Stars on Thursday evening, leaving them with a deficit that they must close back in the second leg at Owlerton on June 27.

Hide AdStead said afterwards: “I just didn’t think we were quite at it.”
“We got outgated on a track that didn’t necessarily lend itself well to any passing; starts were crucial and we were lacking in that department a little bit.
“Not enough winners, too many last places and it was a tough night at the office.
“But credit where it’s due, King’s Lynn were on the gas and we weren’t.

“So we look forward to the home leg later in the month now and we know the job we’ve got to do.”
Tigers will be in action again on Monday, (June 10) when the travel to face league leaders Ipswich in the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership.
