The Owls made a late Play-Off push as Carlos Carvalhal’s dream almost came true, and after a dramatic win in the semifinals against Brighton & Hove Albion, the Owls were unable to make it past Steve Bruce’s Hull City after Mo Diamé had struck the killer blow in a game that ended 1-0 and saw Hull go up.

My friend Martin Worth travelled all the way from Santa Monica in California, USA, to be at Wembley with us for the day. Our fans are magical! The sea of blue and white bouncing and shaking the whole of Wembley Stadium, and the noise, will never be outdone. Even the Wembley staff said we had been the best fans they’ve ever experienced there! Photo: Dato Khan

A celebration of being a Wednesdayite, being part of a wall of sound, the loudest Wembley had ever seen. Singing "Not today, not today" outside the pub afterwards. Shame about the bottlers on the pitch in our shirts. Photo: Peter A. Løhmann

Driving down the M1 that morning, every car had a Wednesday scarf hanging out of the window. I remember walking down from The Green Man Pub and all you could see was blue and white. What a day! Photo: John Ledger

Around 10-15 New York Owls travelled to London for the final, pictured are Jim, Luke, Chris and me - who met at JFK. On the day we all had different seats, so we met in London beforehand, and then again after. The picture with Lee Peacock was taken right at the end of the day after a 20-minute Rickshaw ride across London to meet more friends for a nightcap. Great day! Photo: Paddy Jones
