Camp, who left Birmingham City at the end of last season, is no stranger to Monk having worked under him during their time in the Midlands, but it was a surprise for Wednesdayites when they saw him in a picture posted by Barry Bannan on Instagram.

Bannan posted a picture of himself alongside Camp at Middlewood Road today, leading to plenty of questions from supporters, but The Star understands that – at this point – he's just training with the Owls to keep fit following his Birmingham exit.

Camp has had a long career in English football, and played his part in helping AFC Bournemouth to Premier League promotion back in the 2014/15 season. Now 36, he’s looking for his next move as he considers his options going forward.

Cameron Dawson and Joe Wildsmith are the two goalkeepers battling it out for the number one spot at Hillsborough this season, but with Josh Render still a youngster and Keiren Westwood possibly on his way out, Monk may be on the lookout for an experienced third-choice at some stage – and one who is currently a free agent may well be an option once the transfer window closes.

For now, however, The Star is of the understanding that Camp is just at Middlewood Road to keep himself fit, with his former Cherries teammate, Darryl Flahavan, helping him stay in good shape for whenever his next opportunity comes along – wherever that may be.
