Of course, since the two clubs last locked horns at S6 in October 2014 the Hornets spent five years in the Premier League until their relegation back to the Sky Bet Championship at the end of last season.
But what’s happened to the players who lined up for the Owls in a 3-0 defeat back in the autumn of 2014?
Let’s take a look.

9. Hallam Hope

10. Gary Madine
The 30-year-old frontman played for Wednesday between 2011 and 2015, scoring 26 goals in 67 league starts before moving to Bolton Wanderers. He was part of the Owls side that pipped arch rivals United - a club he later had a loan spell with in 2019 - to promotion from League One in 2012. His time at S6 was interrupted by five months in prison after he was found guilty of causing actual bodily harm. He is now at Blackpool after joining on a free transfer last January. 11. Stevie May
Scottish striker May found the back of the net seven goals in 42 appearances for Wednesday during the 2014/15 season, before leaving the club for Preston North End the following summer. The 27-year-old is currently back in his native Scotland where he plays for St Johnstone, the club he left for Wednesday six years ago. Photo: Paul Ellis

12. Jose Semedo
Now at Vitória de Setúbal in Portugal, the 35-year-old midfield man spent some very successful years in a blue and white shirt, helping the club achieve promotion into the Championship and to the brink of the Premier League and left a huge mark on the Wednesday faithful over the course of his six seasons at S6.
